The 1 or 8 Faction is a record label and company based in Singapore and Japan that I’ve started up. We do audio production for all genres, make beats for our own music, and have a roster of rappers and hiphop/ house DJ’s. We’re currently setting up our site so we can go full steam into the 2 to the double 0, 9. I’ll keep updating.

Watsuppppppp
I’m off to Thailand next week for the Asian Hip-Hop Festival 2008!
I just got a call from my man Flick in Thailand, and he hooked me up for this show. It’s a bit late to put our name up on the flyers haha, but it don’t matter, I’m gonna go out there and tear it up!
I’ll be performing along with Flick’s beatbox from 6pm. The legend Nasty Nas of course will be there, along with all the other big acts from Asia. If you’re there you can watch me outshine ‘em, hahaaaaa
I’m Starting to upload old videos I found on my hard drive of me doing my thing :
We used to sell CD’s in Shinjuku, right in front of the Alta TV screen. I took headphones, 20 of my home pressed CD’s, and me and my crew Sky-Fu used to stop people in the street to sell our music. I just let them listen and they’d usually buy a cd off me for about 10 bucks and I’d sell around 15 an hour. Better than a part time job man I miss those days for sure. This short clip is just some clips we took at random times around Tokyo.
I been busy going to the Olympics, and making beats, and writing my rhymes of course. I been doing quite alot of crate digging recently. It’s where you find small sound samples/ snippets from vinyls, and rearrange, loop, re-record them to make a new song. Anyways, If you’ve heard a Kanye track then you’ve heard sampling. I been really getting down with my partners in production crime Makoto and Adrian on the production side of things, we tried sampling Mongolian folk music ( didnt work), Nebuta Japanese festival music (Did work! look out for the beat) and going through all the old jazz, 70’s soul, funk, blues, sort of stuff. If any ideas come to your mind for samples then I’m all ears like dumbo :)
To check out a snippet of one of my new tracks with an old 50’s sample, go to my download page. The Track is called Dreamin’ and it’s about…Dreaming innit?
Catch you in a bit.
Adrian laying down the keys, synths.
Me getting the real hiphop swing drums on the MPC-1000 (I had one of these and stupidly sold it for 200 SGD at cash converters!)
The magical piece of equipment you can’t do hip-hop without. The MPC-1000
… Makoto pointing out that when you spend too much time on the MPC, you need one of these to clear your head.
Diggin’ the crates at a record store near City Hall
Watsup people, hows everything? I decided to make a group on facebookfor people to find my music more conveniently. If your on facebook, then take a look and join! The group makes it easier for me to keep in touch with all the people interested in my music, and it’s a place where I can share opinions and get alot of feedback on my works. I’ll be posting topics as much as possible so keep in touch with me people!
More mp3 downloads will also be up soon! Maybe some of my mixtape tracks from a few years back, the newer tracks for my debut album ( I’ve recorded 6 so far) are far from the mixing and mastering stage, so they’ll take a while to be done.
This was a party at MartiniFirm on mohammed sultand road, the shit was funny! It was a small spot, so I took my kicks off, jumped onto the bar top and busted my rhymes. Im screaming “Get ur hands in the airrr~!” and everyone else is thinking, damn his socks is getting soaked in the beer that’s split onto the bartop. Oh yea, You see the woman in the middle of the 3? That’s my mum! She support my rap shit! I dont think she understand what I’m rapping about tho..but she’s like ‘I like 2pac and dmx so i’ll come to hear that ishhh’
I liked this performance, all the local mc’s from Singapore came down to check me out, I ran around the club and even got my DJ to forget his decks, pick up the mic and rap the choruses with me! Shout out to my man DjNeboet! Also I got a few ladies numbers after this show YupYup
This was fun as hell aswell, I reunited with my group Sky-Fu in Tokyo after doing my solo thing for a while. It definitely makes a difference when you rock the crowd with your loyal crew. They backed me up in my verses, I hype em up on their raps. We were all rocking our tailor made Sky-fu T-shirts ( cheers CJ) I remember my man tomo with the video camera filming right up in my face haha damn that shit gets in the way! The photo is small and rubbish quality because my man Hiro took the photo of us on the big screen TV!
This was dope! I got so used to the older hip-hop crowd just standing there and watching you perform, that I forgot that the young ass crowd (15-18yrs) get crazy up in the party! Big up everyone who was at the event! I got so hyped I tried to bust a breakdance on the dancefloor!
